Alan Gottlieb is Managing Director at Gottlieb International Group Inc. His career is an unusual combination of market research and sales disciplines in Oil Services and Telecommunication markets. His experience is unusual and diverse and encompasses an intimate understanding and contact base in the Oil Services and Maritime VSAT Markets.
Early in his career he directed corporate market research at what is now Baker Hughes and a division of Vetco, one of the world's leaders in sub sea well-heads and pipe inspection. More recently, he served as Vice President of Sales Southeast Asia for Audiovox Communications and was a Director of Sales for Southeast Asia for COMSAT and Aether Systems. In 2001, he founded his consulting practice and has since become a recognized authority on business opportunities for VSAT in Oil and Gas and Maritime Industries.
Since launching his consulting practice, Mr. Gottlieb has identified and developed business opportunities for VSAT in Oil and Gas, International Construction, Military and Mobile applications. His clients have included such industry leaders as France Telecom, Intelsat, Inmarsat, Telecom Italia, Orbit Communications, Iridium, SeaTel, Verestar, Sonic Telecom, Globecomm Systems, KVH Industries, THISS Technologies Singapore, Frontier Technologies and others.
Mr. Gottlieb's product expertise includes Maritime VSAT systems, Fixed VSAT, Cellular Services and Infrastructure, handsets and mobile e-commerce. His international experience is also extensive.
In 2001, he was posted to Hong Kong by Aether Systems. Earlier in his career he was responsible for opening up the market in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific for a small foot print cellular infrastructure manufactured by a Division of COMSAT and spent nearly eight years working is Southeast Asian markets. During his career he has worked in and traveled to over 55 countries.
Mr. Gottlieb is a frequent contributor to Sat News and a well known speaker and moderator at ISCe, The Washington D.C. Annual Satellite show, Offshore Communications (Houston), and NAB.
He holds a Master Degree in International Business from Thunderbird Graduate School in Arizona and a BA Degree from Stetson University in Florida and speaks fluent Spanish. He and his wife reside in Washington, D.C.
